Angeline The BakerAngeline the Baker is for all the Angelines of this world who keep us in bread cakes, pastries, and other culinary delights. It’s an old plantation melody originally sung by minstrel groups and first published in the 1850’s. Old French is the old romance dialect spoken in the territories of northern France in the 14th Century. The term is also used to indicate the arcane dialects of language spoken by the earliest French settlers in the colonies of North America. Mandolin thanks to Rowena Worvill for this one.

Footprints in the SnowFootprints in the Snow is attributed to Harry Wright first appearing sometime in the 1880’s however some believe its origin to be from Jackson and Bennet and first published in 1886. Like many old time tunes its origin is not clear. It was made popular by Bill Monroe and has become a Bluegrass standard. When Pete played this for Barry he couldn’t resist its high rolling rhythm and energetic vocal.
